At Cetix, we take privacy and protection of your personal information seriously. This policy explains how we collect, use and safeguard your data when you use our website and services. It complies with Quebec’s Act to modernize legislative provisions as regards the protection of personal information (Law 25) and applicable Canadian legislation.
1. Personal information we collect
- Contact details (first and last name, email, phone).
- Professional information (company name, title, industry).
- Technical data (IP address, device type, pages visited, on-site interactions).
- Any other information voluntarily provided through forms or sign-ups.
2. Why we collect this information
- To provide our services and respond to your requests.
- To improve the user experience on our site.
- To send you relevant information about our services or promotions — only with your prior consent.
- To ensure the security and proper operation of our systems.
3. Consent
Under Law 25, your consent to the collection and use of your personal information is free, informed, manifest, specific and given for specific purposes. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us (see section 11). Withdrawal does not retroactively invalidate processing lawfully carried out before the withdrawal.
4. Sharing of personal information
We do not sell or rent your data. We may share certain information with:
- Strictly necessary service providers (hosting, cloud, analytics, payment processors).
- Legal authorities when required by law or judicial order.
All our partners are bound by strict contractual commitments regarding confidentiality, security and purpose of data processing.
5. Communication outside Quebec
Some of our providers (hosting, cloud, analytics) may process or store your personal information outside Quebec — in Canada, the United States, or Europe. Before any transfer outside Quebec, we conduct a privacy impact assessment (PIA) and ensure data benefits from protection equivalent to that provided under Law 25 through contractual and technical safeguards (encryption, restricted access, confidentiality agreements).
6. Data security
- Encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest for sensitive data.
- Restricted access on a least-privilege basis.
- Encrypted, redundant backups.
- Continuous monitoring, access logging and regular intrusion testing.
- Privacy training for staff.
7. Automated decisions
Cetix does not use any automated decision-making system — including AI or scoring algorithms — producing legal or similarly significant effects on individuals. Should this change, you would be informed in advance and would benefit from a right to human review.
8. Information about minors
Our site and services target a professional adult audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 14. If we discover such information has been provided without the required parental consent, we will delete it without delay.
9. Your rights
Under Law 25, you have the right to:
- Access your personal information held by us.
- Rectify inaccurate, incomplete or ambiguous information.
- Withdraw your consent to the use of your data.
- Request deletion of your data, except where retention is required by law.
- Request the cessation of dissemination or de-indexing of personal information about you published on our site, where the legal conditions are met.
- Receive a copy of your information in a structured, commonly used technological format (right to portability).
- File a complaint with the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec (CAI) at cai.gouv.qc.ca or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
To exercise these rights, contact our officer (see section 11). We respond within 30 days of receiving your request.
10. Retention and security incidents
We retain your information as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy, or to comply with our legal obligations. Once these purposes are met, your data is securely destroyed or anonymized.
In the event of a privacy incident posing a serious risk of harm, we promptly notify the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec and the affected individuals, and maintain an incident register in accordance with Law 25.
11. Personal Information Officer
Cetix has appointed an officer for the protection of personal information in accordance with section 8.1 of Law 25. Any question, access request, rectification, consent withdrawal or complaint should be addressed to:
